Clutch Sports: Where Legends Are Born
Clutch Sports is a full-stack demo that bridges the gap between software engineering and competitive athletics. As a student-athlete and Computer Science major, I developed this application using Next.js and React to solve the problem of information overload in sports media.
The project centers on a "Clutch-Detection" logic that filters live games to prioritize "crunch-time" scenarios matchups with thin score margins in the final minutes ensuring users never miss high-stakes moments.
The Challenge: During development, I hit a significant "brick wall" while attempting to integrate dynamic assets like team logos, player headshots, and real-time data feeds. Initially, the integration felt impossible, but by maintaining my composure and leaning into my identity as a self-learner, I initiated a deep-dive research session. Within 30 minutes, I mastered the necessary API structures and data-binding techniques to fully populate the demo with live, visual content. This project showcases my ability to build high-performance, component-driven interfaces while demonstrating the grit and rapid problem-solving skills essential for modern web development.
